Well, we are a couple of weeks into the new year ... and a few weeks in new training programs. In the course of my day, both in and out of practice, as I chat with my fellow women about their health concerns and challenges.

I have worked with many women who began feverishly to have spoken since the new year, which will receive all the same goals before his eyes - shed fat, customs and promote weight, metabolism, and attenuated to make some "hanging" areas and drop a few sizes - and theywant it all NOW! Is this you, too?

Unfortunately, what I'm hearing is that these women, and most others beginning a new program that is not correct or current information is received, they will get in the right direction. In fact, there are a handful of common mistakes that most of them that can destroy your metabolism, your energy and zap you actually keep your body soft and flabby.

If it is your intention is, in fact, burn fat, lose weight and get toned, then there is a fundamentalunderlying principle of lying to get precisely - your training must be intensive, thus creating the desired change. Not the "killer" intense, but not lazy slackers training either! The overall effect you are trying to create is an increased metabolic rate at rest (RMR). Once you have achieved that, your body will burn fat and shed pounds for you 24 / 7.

Error # 1
If you exercise on foot in a gym, especially in this time of year where you see most people? That's right - the heartMachines. It is a long-held misconception that the more endurance-type cardio to burn to do this, the more calories you will, therefore, the more fat you burn and / or weight you lose.

Remember our goal? Fat loss, always watered and increase lean, metabolism ... right? Steady-paced, low-to moderate-intensity heart does not cut the mustard! Yes, you can spend a lot of calories during the workout, and increase your metabolism, but only for a very short time - maybe one or two hours after yourTraining. These "old school" type of cardio can actually result in fat storage and muscle loss ... the exact opposite of what we want. If we lose muscle, we lose our integrated fat burners.

The key to achieving the desired results with heart work harder, to no longer exist. This could mean several different things. First, think of short of an intensity. Sprints come to mind! Other examples can increase the incline on the treadmill for a part of your routine, or adding someJogging / running / sprinting to program what you are doing. There is enough there for part of your training and you will see better results. Challenge yourself.

If you wear a heart rate monitor, while this type of cardio should see increases your heart rate, then you come down, then again ... This creates a challenge for your cardiovascular system ... creates more work ... increase your RMR. In fact, if you add, intense workouts to your repertoire, youIncrease your RMR for 1-2 days later! Nice! We must burn our thinking from "How many calories is this shift in practice?" to "How many calories do I burn in a given period of 24 hours?" (eg "How efficient is my RMR?")

Another thing to keep in mind with the cardio workout is the variability of add ... Mix It Up. Once again, your body sees this as a challenge - it is never lazy and accustomed to the same 'ol routine. This could be so easily how different "programs" on theTreadmill or elliptical. It could be as much as Sprint one days differently, other skipping, cycling other kickboxing another, etc. Interval training is another way to add the variability. If you are a walker, try to go for jogging or for a few minutes into your walk or jumping jacks or squats or cable ... You get the picture! If you are already a jogger or runner, add hill sprints for a few minutes, or anything else that makes work really hard, for a short Period.

If your body with increased intensity and diversity of which is called into question, it will rise to the occasion to shed more fat for you! So, if it can be to burn fat and losing weight, you take the concept of long, boring fights heart out of the window! The intensity is the key to the maximum benefit from your heart in the least time. 60 minutes walk on the treadmill can be traded, for 10-20 minutes after the mountain run ... You are guaranteed to see the fabulous> Results very quickly!

The next time we will tackle Error # 2 ... Reach your trouble spots.
